Philip Southwick joined Group 1 Automotive in June of 2010, starting his career in the “Manager Trainee Program”. After successfully completing the program, he took on various roles on the operational side of the business, including General Manager.
In January of 2020, Southwick became Market Director for the Southwestern states (California, New Mexico, and West Texas), overseeing 20 dealerships and 25 different OEM partners.
He then moved back to Houston to be the Vice President of Aftersales and giving him his first role in our corporate office.
Following that, Philip and family moved to the UK where he led our business as Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, successfully navigating the market and our largest acquisition to date - Inchcape Retail.
Given his wide range of operational experience, Philip has returned to Houston to be our Vice President of Retail Operations.
Prior to joining Group 1, he worked at Merrill Lynch and attended John Carroll University, earning a degree in Finance.
